I'm going to try milling and should I get Archer ripping chain at $28 a loop or Oregon LPX at $19 a loop and re-cut the top plate? The Archer is a semi chisel, does that matter?

What dl bar are you going to be running? 3/8 or .063?

The Archer chain has an attractive price but I wasn't sure on it so I started that thread. I have used Oregon, Forester and Carlton and all have done well.

I would go with the LPX if I had to choose between those two options.

Yes that should work great for you. Please report back with how it does!
