I pulled out these logs a few months ago and have been slowly milling them. I'm down to the last log and realized that I haven't taken very many pictures.

How thick are your making your boards, and how long do you dry them???

I have been doing some Hickory recently, and have a large Red Oak to do also.

The one in back of the landowner.

I haven't done anything since I posted those pictures. :(

I'll probably mill some 9/4 and 5/4 stuff. I normally stack it in the attic of my shop for 8-12 months.

Excellent material. I can't wait to try my hand at it. I have a Husky 394 and a Panther mill that can cut 35".

What width are you cutting?

I never measured it... I guessing 30".

That's a 36" bar and I don't remove bumper spikes because I really don't mill a lot and I use that buck also.

I was using stihl RS off the reel because I bucked the logs that same day and I didn't feel like changing out chains.

I personally don't think I gain anything over milling chain other then a little smoother cut.

Like I said I don't do a ton of milling, especially since dad bought a bandsaw.
