I've been a Stihl man all my life, not just saws but all my OPE stuff.
This past week I ran a couple of other brands of stuff, 2 saws, a blower, and a string trimmer.
One big question came to mind after I was done.

Why do I have to pull my guts out to start a Stihl and most other brands seem to fire right up?

EPA regs and Stihl makes them stupid lean!

There’s a LOT of variables here.

All my equipment for my landscaping company is stihl & they get used hard year round, the first thing I was given by my local pape equipment shop was the adjuster tool to adjust the carbs, richened them up a bit and they have all run flawless for years, general maintenance also helps new plug & filters at the end of each season.

My Huskies always start easier than my Stihls. My routine is when I get to where I’m cutting, I crank each saw and let them run a minute or two to warm up. I may have 4-5 lined up, so they’re easy to compare. And yes, I have a 500i.

A good choke that fully closes well, I believe is the biggest reason a saw starts well. A good working primer bulb compensates on equipment that has them . I have had numerous times something that didn't want to fire, put my finger or thumb over the carb inlet and give it 1 pull and it fires. Of course a fine tune helps or richening the carb, but if you can make the choke close better you can focus tuning all on power rather then richening for start.

Got a 015 and a 056 super and both start as good as any other saw.
Collect old ones as well and have a squeeze bottle with fine brass tip
and give them a small shot down the plug hole, works every time.

What type of bottle/tip is that?
