Started this project quite a while ago. It got put on the back burner for some time.

We will start at the beginning, with notes of bearing and seal part numbers added. Maybe some other part numbers as well.

I bought it off of fleabay. Had lots of sawdust and saw chips all over and inside it. Would not turn over, found a bunch of crud stuck between the piston and cylinder head. Found bad crank seals and bad crank bearings.

New bearing numbers are 6203 C3, seals are 6640.

I used 2 seals, as that was how it came from the factory. The IPL shows a washer behind the flywheel to block crud from getting into the area where the points pushrod is.

Now that I think about it, maybe I did not use three seals. I damaged one of them installing it and had to replace it.

Next, some pictures.

To make it easier for people see the pictures, you can click on the "picture" icon 1775692439267.png at the top of the block you are typing in and it will bring up a window to search to or just drop in the picture you want from your phone or your computer. I believe you can add five pictures per post so if you have 10 pictures, you will have to divide it between two posts. This helps with Google search, so if someone is searching for D44 or S44, then this image may pop up in their image search leading them here to your post.

It should end up looking like this:

That saw looks well used (like most McCullochs), I look forward to seeing your work on it and how it turns out!

Some more work done on this project. Cleaned out the bottom half of the fuel tank, installed it, put the intake elbow adapter on, and the flywheel screen. This is not a make it look brand new build. Just cleaning it up to make a nice runner.

Some more, with questions.

Found this on the fuel cap, is there a fitting that the valve is supposed to attach to?

And would there be a point to make (a large quantity of) new sawdust flaps for these? Otherwise, I will just make my own new one from a piece of rubber.
