Started this project quite a while ago. It got put on the back burner for some time.
We will start at the beginning, with notes of bearing and seal part numbers added. Maybe some other part numbers as well.
I bought it off of fleabay. Had lots of sawdust and saw chips all over and inside it. Would not turn over, found a bunch of crud stuck between the piston and cylinder head. Found bad crank seals and bad crank bearings.
New bearing numbers are 6203 C3, seals are 6640.
I used 3 seals, as that was how it came from the factory. The IPL shows a washer behind the flywheel to block crud from getting into the area where the points pushrod is.
My saw came with a seal fitted into the side casing there instead. Two on the flywheel (MAG) side, and one on the clutch (PTO) side. The ones on the flywheel side were one next to the crankshaft bearing, then there was the felt seal by the points pushrod, and then from there another seal outside of the felt seal. I will have to draw up a picture of what I am talking about.
Next, some pictures.
