Mcculloch sp125/101b kart saw build thread

How will you attach the rear anti-vibe mount from the bottom of the fuel tank/air box to the cylinder?

I will mount it to the kart shroud, I use a Panhead Phillips screw with a fender washer from the bottom side.

Worked on the decomp for the head, Not a big fan of drilling a hole through the kart cover for the decomp, so I ran it at an angle so you can push the decomp right behind the shroud corner
Had to break out my redneck lathe! LOL to get the outside diameter of the washer down a bit

Have an original Mac branded sdc20, love the old mc logo on them!

Was waiting a long time to find the fast idle! It real helps starting these! Is a must have! Lol

Got out my cp top cover, I found it on eBay years ago, haven’t seen on eBay since! I thought I kind of overplayed at the time, $40 bin, but now I am glad I have it!
It’s just set there, but I am trying to decide what decal to run, I only have the sp125c decal but could get a sp125 or cp125 decal, not sure yet. What do you guys think

Might as well go with the 125c for the somewhat sleeper look.

Lol I guess you could have a kart sticker made to fit that area.

I have the one sticker, so that’s a good reason! I like the chrome board, I want it to be period correct, and that’s probably sp125, it’s not a cp, but you could argue the cover would have probably come with a cp sticker, so I can see that too. The only kart saw the I have seen with a cp cover, that was all original had a 125c sticker. I am kinda open but want it to be correct-ish! Lol

I don’t think anything about that saw says sleeper if you ask me. One pull on the rope or one piss rev and the Jig is up.

As soon as it starts, the jig sure is up. They don't sound anything like a 125. A 125 is pretty tame, a 101 is much less so.

Yes they do sound way different! And a lot louder! Lol
