Does anyone wory about it only havin a single ring? My stihl dealer here uses that against them when someone asks about a Dolmar.

Less friction/heat.

The don't imagine the longevity is much of a factor. Guess the way I see it, by the time a dual ring piston is wore out the jug isn't far behind. Where the single ring jug can go again lol

I find no issue with a single ring at all. I know Brad uses a single ring in many of his Stihl builds.

The single ring saws I've played with had a thicker single ring than the double ring saws. For instance, the 262xp is 48x1.5mm. The 036 is 48x1.2mm.

As long as the rings look ok, I prefer a loose used lower ring and a new top caber. Best of both worlds.

Looking really good Moobs.

What do you suppose is the reason for the tube? Air gap to keep heat away from cylinder?

It continues on into the muffler a little way, then turns down. I'm not sure what they were thinking, but I figure it has more to do with eliminating hydrocarbons somehow than heat.

Is there going to be a thread on the tractor ? I like tractors.

It's a JD 1120. It's got a case of rusty fuel tank. One of the injectors got some trash under the pintle, leaked some fuel into the cylinder and hydro-locked the engine.

Once I was able to get it running again I changed the fuel filters, and ran a few gallons of fuel with Seafoam in it to clean up the injectors. Then I changed the oil and filter, and worked on the intake heater.

I'm just glad to get it back in service without too much drama.

randy i had a rusty fuel tank on my 73 cub loboy 154 and fought it for a while until i washed it out with water then put the plasma cutter to the tank and sanded inside the tank no more problems

I might just buy a new tank. They ain't crazy expensive. I've been using this tractor for a year and a half at least, I didn't notice the sediments in the bowl till I was changing the filters. Some yahoo painted the bowl. I'll be watching it now.
