Impulse line collapsing or leaking when going WOT? o_O

Never mind me, just thinking out loud.
I am "green" with this saw model and have issues on mine that need remedied. :(

How annoying.

I recently rebuilt a Makita 7910, full teardown, Poleman carb, etc... It has the exact same symptoms as described in this little version. I honestly didn't consider the coil as a culprit. It's been sitting for a year. Annoying is a reasonable word.

I also have an EA4300 in red. These are such nice saws. It is a shame that parts are expensive and scarce. I have a blue 42cc that is ready for a rebuild as well.

Just throw a 272 coil on that 7910 pretty easy and super cheap

I have not had the best luck with AM coils. Seems one out of three will work the way its supposed to. OE coils jumped drastically in price. The last few I replaced, I found good used ones.

I agree 100%. Haven't had good luck with aftermarket coils either but as a diagnostic dart, I'd waste 27 bucks before another 85.

Ok so had to fix some quality issues (no way, right?) because the I could not get the lamination from hitting the flywheel. The laminations where not all the same level so a quick sanding with a Dremel and a sanding drum trued it up. Too much epoxy on top of the coil would not allow the bolt head and the nylon isolator to go far enough in the groove before bottoming out. Utility knife fixed that .

Yeah, since that coil mounts directly to the cylinder, it gets heat cycled every time you whip her out. :( Although that huge flywheel does it's best to cool her off, I dunno if the location was such a good idea.

Not a whole lotta chainsaw stuff happening in my life recently, really. Only the occasional porting, repair and wind blown stuff.
Though with the prices of new equipment and availability like they are, I am getting more busy. You?

I too think chainsaws are dumb. Lol! I mainly hang out in the off topic section anymore with the gang.

I was betting on the coil. Glad you got somewhere. That 420 that had was a gremlin. Replaced to many parts on it. When last repair was coil it was sent down the road. Coil fixed the 420 too.

I must have got a hybrid flywheel on my blue one
