I want to know how this baby runs.. I already have a 120, but I have piles of 357-9 parts.

FWIW, the throttle and choke plates for the 87 carb are now available again through walbro. The nozzle is NLA.

I believe @super3 did a thread on the conversion, but now I'm wondering if it's worth it. The 199 may be larger.

A ported 262 benefits from a larger carb tremendously. Did you bore out the plastic intake manifold to match?

The nominal venturi of the HDA-120 is only 15mm, while the -199 is 16.67mm, same as the -87.

This is by memory, the Walbro site that lists them isn't currently working.

I thought though that 120 and 87 used the same shaft assay on both, but there may be different versions of 120 for all I know, according Walbros homepage HDA 144 use a different throttle shaft.

One of those days I have to sit down and rebuild one 199

I wish I could trade for that Black chain brake handle. My 154se is all original and trimmed out in black... except for the chain brake handle is grey and in really good condition. It would look real nice on this 262xp.

No sir. It was larger than the Zamas by quite a lot.

144 use a different throttle shaft

The slot in the 144 shaft needs to be lengthened to use the 87 butterfly.

If you're not very good at cutting the slot longer then there is another option. The plates can be changed on the shafts. Flat file the shaft down to the plate and carefully work it off and solder the replacement in place.
