That damned hedge can get ahead of you,sneaky stuff .Those things can get the thick stems so thick it requires either a chainsaw or a heavy duty hand clipper .I use the former ,3 cube chainsaw with a 16" bar .Only need to do it every couple of years . Throw the stems in the yard and grind them up with the Toro zero turn mower .I'm not real fond of raking anything .
