I worked on one of these old Sears blowhards about a month ago. I got it running. The original owner said it had not been started in at least 15 years.

That thing was so loud that the windows in my house vibrated. I don't think it's a Homelite. Might be a Roper as Jon1212 commented or perhaps a Remington. The one I worked on said Sears and nothing else. It weighed about 20 lb. dry.

You guys are right i just don't have any tags but parts are easy to get and with his unique muffler i can screw on a small motorcycle tailpipe baffle. He quit using it ten years ago it's actually in good shape just faded and dirty another fun project.

There are loud saws that direct sound away from the operator and are not bad to run. Then there are ones like the McCulloch 10-10 with the upturned exhaust version of a muffler(doesn't muffle anything) that directs the noise up, directly to your right ear, making the hairs on your head vibrate. Only saw I ever ran with ear plugs and muffs and still felt like my eardrums were being violated. I'll give an honorable mention to my Homelite XL-102. So probably any of the old saws that exit the right rear are hard on the ears for the operator.
