Loudest chainsaw

My MMWS Makita 7910 dual port muffler has me reaching for ear protection before I grab it. Had a friend call me and ask if it was me he heard cuttin. He was close to a mile away.

Good lord, is that a "muffler" or a megaphone? My ears heart just looking at that thing.




My personal loudest is an Alpina 070sView attachment 43758

At first glance I thought it had an amplifier on it, or electric guitar pickups.

Homelite c5, c52 has to be the loudest I've ever ran and I've ran or owned about everything. With the old homelite you need earplugs and earmuffs...

An old big Mac, can't remember the number, but it basically had no muffler. Thing would make your ears bleed from two blocks away.

I'm not sure if this is the loudest saw I've ever heard but it's gotta be close. You can feel it in your chest and will make your ears ring from 20yrds.

My 090 rattles the walls.

I think the big noise comes from the big old 100+CC saws with near open mufflers.

I got to get me a big mack!

Don's @sawfun's gear drive 090 if I remember which one of his 090's correctly. That thing is louder than a Guantanamo Bay torture room.

Modern saws are definately a lot quieter but my gutted muffler 372 is pretty loud, same with dual port 044. They still get drowned out by my Mac 10-10 though.

The loudest modern saws I've been around are a couple of Husqvarnas at the TN GTG. Owned by @Hedgerow and @mdavlee, respectively.

My loudest stock saw seems to be mentioned a lot on this thread. Mac 10 series.
