Well, it is works, but since I live here I will call it mine! We had to help with the fire damage in Gatlinburg and I was complaining about needing a bigger saw. My supervisor asked what was on contract that I wanted. Of course it was Stihl, so I said a 661. I can't wait until he gets the bill! He bought two 661s, and two 391s out of his budget. I grabbed the 661 and put it in my truck before anyone else could grab it! Now, with it being brand new and Mtronic, will 40:1 hurt it any? Or should I stay with 50:1?

That's the beauty of the m-tronic. Put 50:1 in it, it'll run great. Put 32:1 in it, it'll run great. Assuming that the computer is functioning, I suppose. There's no screwdriver override.

If it were my saw, I would absolutely use 40:1. I just like thinking about that extra oil in those bearings. Just my .02, though. I ran my stuff on 50:1 for years before I found AS and this place. Since I joined, I heeded the advice of several members whose opinions I respect and started mixing in a little more oil. I've never fried a two stroke on either ratio, but I'm happy at 40:1. If you're worried about it being a little hotter, open up the muffler a little.

Congrats the new saw, even if you don't own it. :)

I'm trying, I'm trying! You all don't realize the spotty service I have here. I am downloading a resizing app for my phone to see if it helps.

Phones these days take such ridiculously high resolution photos. Definitely a pain to upload. I'm using an app called "reduce photo size" it works super well. Changes photos from 4-8 MB to 125kb, in most cases. I tried a different app, but it didn't work very well.

I don't have to do anything. I upload pics straight off my iPhone all the time.

Run 40:1. What could it hurt?
