Got all them ported saws and such. Now get your atv ported and swamp tires on it with a smokin-hot darlin driving it and that'll be a helluva good set up!
I think you are right! Once it reaches a certain point it will lift the tongue. There will probly have to be some mods made. Just moving with a log on will want to lift the front. Real skidders are the same way if you watch em in action.
On a Skidder pulling the log up over the rear axle helps keep the front down and drive on all 4 wheels.
Easy to do on a grapple skidder with hydraulics but..
The log arch will put a lot of up load on the tongue moving the arch forward of the axle would help lesson this upward load I imagine.
She’s done. Well probably make our first trial run beginning of the week. Try to get a video and post it. That’s Wayne leaning on the arch. He donated the boat trailer, was the boss on the fab ideas plus welder. I just cut stuff to fit. He also likes to go and cut firewood with me for a couple hours at a crack. Pretty good for 84.
I like it. I think IF you have tongue lift problems, all you would have to do is move the hubs to the rear, to transfer the weight. Might not be a problem though.
