Homeowners Insurance help at all with your losses? Looks like hours of work up in flames, damn.
Yes, homeowners insurance will help. I will get a new shed, and replacement value of all tools, full saws, and misc other items lost or destroyed.

Once the insurance is settled...
Will you get the salvage from the shed?
By the looks of some of the saws, the good bits may still be salvageable.
P/C and bottom ends should be OK,bars and chains should clean up.
Be it small but a slight silver lining? Hope so...

Sorry to hear Frank, hopefully you will get them all replaced, I know you have some saw that are not easy to acquire.

OH MY LORD FRANK, That is horrible, My worst night mare, I feel for you. Looks like you lost a lot of nice stuff.
2 years ago i got insurance on my saws. I'm covered up to 250,000.00 for theft, fire, and even damage in shipping.

They are not concerned with anything in the shed. I’ll be able to salvage anything salvageable.
Luckily I had the majority of my saws in a separate storage unit.

It’s a good idea to get extra coverage for anything you have with value, I have talked to my insurance agent several times, and she has told me that taking pictures and keeping a list is a good idea, she said up to date pics was the best. Having a good understanding of your policy is a must nowadays

Mine told me the same thing. It was more of walk through your house while taking video, but same concept. And I do have serial numbers written down of saws, guns, anything I deem important enough and I don’t want to argue with the insurance adjuster about value.

If your under insured they will max out payment on your agreed amount, it’s each individual’s responsibility to inform the insurance company of what they have. You can also have coverage that is more flexible but it costs more. I have actual loss coverage, and it has a stated amount, but will cover more or less depending, the issue comes in when you have a loss, proving what you had, and if you have replacement vs depreciating coverage, depreciating coverage will only cover the current used value, like say a roof is 19 years old and it’s a 20 year shingle they will pay for the 1 year left, replacement coverage will pay for a completely new roof. Cheap insurance is usually has lots of holes that people don’t know about. Talk to your agent!

Bummer man.
Your were home is a big plus and the house of goodies didn't all burn up.

I have few extra 394 parts when you get to that point.

Vinegar takes off the stink and goo. Spray nine if the vinegar don't cut it. The steel you can wash up with old gasoline or solvents. You'll have several crank shafts and case halfs to get started on.
