Today has been a staging day, albeit unpaid in dollars, well paid in sanity. Started with cleaning up and organizing a bit of my "new" tool/garden hut. Reloaded my truck for work-mode and organized a little.

The afternoon has been sharpening chain and helping the landlord install a new oven/range. Pulled some small seasoned madrone from the fuel reduction/oak restoration job I've been whittling away at on the property since burn-season started (1.5-2ac, 50'+/-permiter around a ~20ac parcel.)

Testing the first chain, which I managed to get 4 battery charges out of. Touched it up at lunch yesterday but immediately cut through a wire buried/standing in the brush. Opted to not take down the depths until the next sharpening, just cause.

Unequal teeth, but pulling good for little attention to the depths.

Had the best weekend with Brad, cut brush, and logs and (just a few) cookies using my MS400 and @Brad Krause 's 881. What a beast, but super fun! Chips flew everywhere. The 400 throws them far! The 881 makes huge piles of chips. Both saws ran great and ate wood like there was no tomorrow, and still wanted more!

I felled my first tree with the 400! That was exciting. I'm thankful Brad was there to guide me through the felling process. It was a small diameter tree, but it was tall. A good starter tree. I don't have pictures of that, well because i was doing the felling. @Brad Krause should have some.

We got alot of work done, and had an fenominal time doing it. 2 days, many tanks of gas, and this Newbie Chainsaw Chick is feeling it, but definitely with a smile!😁

If anyone wants to know if Miss Wolf can handle a saw, here's her with one foot buried in a pile of chips after a cut--one-handing the 881 while stripping bark for the next cut.

Until I saw this picture, it never dawned on me that I was handeling the 881 with one hand. I just did it without thinking about it. That saw is amazing, and a HUGE thank you to Brad for saying, "Here, try this!"

A well-balanced saw feels pounds lighter than a saw that is awkward for an individual's frame. Resting the saw on the hip helps a lot, too, especially for the bigger saws/bars.

Aww what a cute little saw. And thise are some great chips!!
She is one of the saw purchases that have dropped in my lap.
I picked her up some 300km away from my location, for a spell - so worth every minute taking the road trip.
She balances perfectly for one hand operation with a 10" B&C, and she has a reliable old school brushed motor that just keeps pulling.

I was somewhat surprised myself that the chips came out that big.

That saw and chain makes for one handy little combo! :)
