I see one for sale that looks extremely clean but at a premium price (>$300).
Interested in using it, not collecting.
Is it a dependable worthwhile mower?
What are possible problem points?
Any guess on the weight?

They are neat old mowers but should be unused if someone's looking for 300. I like the fact that they're 2-stroke, but they have a few weaknesses--plastic carbs that warp, less-than-completely-reliable coils, etc. That said I own one.

Actually it's more like $375 and apparently used but not looking like it.
Can the plastic carb be swapped with a metal one?

Weight is about average. I would guess 50 lb.
That would be such an improvement from my 90 pound Toro junk that ends up having to be pushed because the drive belt design is crap and fails twice a season.

Not that I know of. Basically if you like 2-stroke engines and if you work on your own machines, that'd be the only way I'd recommend it.
