Picked this up today. Guy had it listed on facebook. It desperately needs a good cleaning and has a Crack in the top cover but it starts right up and runs like it should. $225 whadya think?

Find the Water Hose that fits that handle, and it'll work.

I might have something at work that will fit that handle. I have half a mind to try some heat shrink tubing.

The PO of my 660 put some kinda hose on the wrap, and it is nice.

I'd certainly do it if I ever need to cover one.

$225?

I think you did well.

Clean it up and you've got a saw that's tough to kill. My buddy has used his (bought new for $1000) for 20 years commercially and has never even turned the carb screws on it. That model is a bit heavy, but known for being reliable and bulletproof. Very overbuilt saw.

A metal tag with "038 Av" with mag below it would indicate an earlier model .Mag II would be later ."Magnum" in the form of a decal would be towards the last of the run.

As far as the outlets on the muffler, one ,two whatever ,it could be any of the former .Besides that it's just a hole.Easy enough to add .

I've got two.The first has the metal tag, made in Germany .The other which is souped came from Brazil with a double outlet muffler .

These are not at all common in my neck of the woods. This is the first magnum I have ever seen. I think I will just hang onto it for now. Maybe do like you said earlier and go through it. New bearing and seals. Maybe find someone to port it. Anybody have any thoughts on who would be good to port it?
