Just wondering if there’s any kawy gurus on here that can help me out. I have a Kawasaki FR691V that I need to order engine parts for, but the serial/model # tag is missing. There are many variations or sub numbers behind the model number yet that I need to know.
Is this info stamped on the engine somewhere as well? Can’t find anything, except what looks like a serial number.

Blew a valve at 500 hrs, not much left of piston number 2…

What machine is it on?

Did your valve guides fall out causing the valve to contact the piston?

It’s on an ex-mark zero turn mower. Valve guide is still there, valve stem also but the valve itself is gone. Piston had a huge hole in it and lots of metal down in the sump. Iam guessing it never got the 300 hour recommended valve service done.
Not my machine.

Yikes! Look up the mower in emarks ipl. A lot of time you can find the specifics to at least get you close on the engine.

That's engine time! By the time you purchase parts and your time I bet your at a new engine with a warranty. Plus I can't imagine the rod or cylinder walls went through that without harm.

Update on this. Ended up getting an oversized piston for the one side and a new complete head. Did crank seals, valve seals on the other cylinder, both new head gaskets, new filters etc. ended up being under half price of a new engine with my labour included.
Should be some life left in it yet.

BTW - AFAIK - Kawasaki only applied labels (that conveniently fall off) to the outer part of the engine for ID. There might be a laser or stamping inside the major engine parts - but I've never found them.

Old thread I know but here goes .I've got one on a Toro zero turn that periodically need to blow the carb out because chit gets into the gas tank and sucked into the carb .So yesterday my fumble fingers managed to drop the thing and break the choke shaft off ,plastic you know .A replacement shaft is 16 bucks and a new AM carb is 23 dollars ,no brainer .From a dealer that thing is around $100 . I can hand choke it for the time being .
