Jred 2166 full wrap?

I'm am trying to find the correct full wrap for a 2166. I heard the 2172 fits but can't confirm. Anyone know what's what? Thanks

You know if they are bare aluminum? I thought black. One I found is bare.

I meant the aluminum itself , not the rubber.

Jonsered stopped painting the exposed metal on all of the saw handles for the last couple years now. Even replacement handles for saws that never came with unpainted handles like the 2153 or 2171 now come unpainted from the factory.

If you prefer the original black look a shot of spray paint is all it takes, and I've done this for years when restoring older Jonnys because the paint always peels off............which I guess makes a good argument for the non painted handle, huh?

Scuff the aluminum with 400 grit paper and prime with etching primer then top coat. Available at Walmart, will prevent paint from peeling due to loss of adhesion but not chipping from impact.

Shoot, I’d toss it to a powder coater. It’s pretty small part now days.

Yea, exactly. Paint works wonders and can always be kept looking new.

Dunno, cut it? The Randal had a video of how to install new grip at one time.
