I have one, But not run it much, I think it is a great vintage 80ish cc saw.
One of the nice silver tops.

This one was handed to me today. Compression is only 110 PSI and some of the rubber anti-vibe mounts are shot.

I had one of them not long ago, sold to a guy for 80$ Because he needed a yard saw. But I also have another one if I remember right that runs and has good compression but needs seals

Hi lads.
Collected my first Jonsered today, an 01 2171. Where do I find an ipl for this model please? I usually grab my Husky ones at Jackssmallengines but there isn't a Jonsered tab.

So the other day a friend of mine dropped this off at my work. He said he saw it sitting near a pile that was to be trash so he grabbed it for me. Appears to need a piston/ring and a flywheel. Is this any relation to a Husky 435 or 445?

Ring is free so hoping jug is good. Didn’t pull it apart yet.

I’m pretty sure it’s the red version of a 345 husky so same design as the 345/350

This will be my first experience with Jonsered saws. I assume parts will be difficult to find? This load cost me, the wife, and kids cutting/splitting/stacking a few f/c of wood for a friend. In there are 2 beat up 490, 2 pretty decent 590, 535, and 630. 3 of the 490 and 590 are heated. The nicer 590 is not. Can you just swap handle parts and muffler from one of the beat up 490's?

Looks like you have the parts to give it a go.

My two brother's and I raced Jonsereds 80s back in the 1970s
Were beating Husky 2100s.
Trick was we removed the bottom ring and use a good chain.
12"×12" frozen spruce.

Everyone knows Jonsereds are terrible! I'll do you a favor and dispose of them properly.
Well, I dragged them home to save them from being disposed of. I thought someone here might want them. However my 12 yo son is now obsessed with them and wants to learn to work on them so I guess we are going to see what we can do with 1 or 2 and see what's left.
