Are you going to buy it?

Seriously considering it! Made an offer on it pending receipt of pictures of the bottom of the saw. Don't want to be buying white rust but from experience of buying some other old Jonsereds magnesium recently, they don't appear to suffer in the way some other saws do. Apparently this one runs.

Mine had old fuel left in the tank for years. The inside lower half of the fuel tank has all the paint peeled off.
Will take a bit of cleaning to get it right.

70E now purchased for less than half the original asking price!

It joins two Jonsereds 80 saws, a 621, a dead 52E, and two Jonsereds Raket XGs. All were bought as non-runners/sources of spare parts and I have one of the 80s and the 621 running but have yet to turn anything other than an airline and my mind to the others due to a general lack of free time... I spotted the first of these in a local auction and left a (very) cheeky bid with the auctioneer and "unfortunately", my bid won and I had to collect the saw! The second 80 and both XGs were mis described and hidden in the background of bulk Lots. I have less than the price of one of the blue Holtzforma 660s in all these saws.

Unfortunately there was only one good bar (24" hardnose) between all the saws listed above but most of the chains are good/recoverable and I have managed to source a couple of new bars. I'll probably make up a few adapters to allow me to run Stihl bars on these saws. In time I'll get one of the XGs running with the 24" hardnose bar and .404 semi chisel chain. I'll stick with 3/8 on the others.

Willard, I spotted a 70E top cover listed on the Chainsawr website ($10USD).

As an aside, how much longitudinal play is acceptable in a roller nose bar? The Rivets mounting the roller nose to the bar itself are solid and the play is in the roller nose itself.​

I has what looks like a "K" embossed above the fuel filler cap and for the life of me, I can no longer find the posts that referenced the letters on the cases with saw models.

Pull the muffler to know for sure. 66e much less common (and more valuable?)

Thanks Woods Works that is a really useful resource. The unfortunate thing is that chart has me thinking about other saws now!
Once I have the saw in hand, I might not need to pull the muffler to check the number of piston rings... there is a bit of a hole in the face of it that may prove to be an adequate "window"!

Thanks Teemore, I'll look into that 70 cover.
Those rollers go along time when loosened up. If it's not broke use it, every tank of fuel pump some grease into the roller if it has a grease hole to pump into.

Interesting the 70E has one ring, I didn't know that.
It should make some high rpm and power.

My 920 that I found in a barn. A carb job, fuel lines and a bar/ chain purchase and she works. Not pretty but strong. Really been nice having the big saw around after hurricane Michael with these big oaks round here. Side note, this is one of the most touchy carbs I've ever tuned granted I havent tuned a crazy amount of em. However this one goes from right to wrong in the width of a screwdriver blade. Anyone else experience that?

Never had that problem with mine back in the early '80s. I know the HS carb on it worked best at 1 1/4 turn out on L and 3/4 turn on H.
Good smooth powerhouse. Fond memories. Looks like it only cut softwood.

Well either someone once painted the sprocket cover black or ran canola for bar oil, or is covered with petrified tree sap.

Just found this thread. The XD Super on eBay was mine. Sold to a forum member. I have a 601 on eBay now and a 621 about to go, along with a few dozen others.

For a bit of vintage J'red pron, see below pic. Shelf on the left is 110/111/111S (bottom two shelves), then 80 and 90, with 621 on the top row or two. Next shelf over is 60/601 on the top shelf, then 4 rows of XF's and parts. Over to the right are the XG, XH's, XD, XD Super's, and XB.

If anyone has a 110/111/111S saw or parts for sale, I'm your Huckleberry...

Jred version of the Husqvarna 362xp. It is essentially a small bore 2171 with a small mount bar. They were not big sellers because they cost more than the 2165 and almost as much as the 2171.

So when you say small bore 2171 do yo mean its a 48mm closed port head?

I always thought they were the 48mm op head with a K095 mount.

Just finished this bad boy found a good OEM jug and put a meteor piston with cabers in it. Ready to move on to the next owner!

It's actually a 47mm closed port cylinder making it 62.4cc. In orange it was supposed to replace the 262xp and in red it replaced the 630 SuperII. Pricing and the 365/2165 killed these saws. When I bought my 2165 new in 2002 it was $475. The 2163 was $560 and the 2171 was $600. The 2165 and 2163 were rated at the same power.
