Still some uncertainty as to what's going on. My rep was in last week with the new line up. Only pro saws being retained as Red Max are the former 2252, (the lone AT entry), then a big jump to the 2172 and then the 2188. Everything in between the 2252 and 2172 is being left out. There is no 2253, 2258, 2260 or 2166. Way too big a gap IMO. The original Red Max version of the 543XP is there also, but the 543 doesn't sell as it is. The rest of the line consists of Red Max versions of the 440, 450 and top and rear handle variants of the T435, which was sourced from Red Max.

Anyway, he sees that we are dumping the saws, and there's only about 5 left, and he asks, "Are you dropping the saws?" And my answer was , "No, you are."

There's another wild card here that is still very unclear. The Jonsered brand will continue in some form as part of the Weedeater/Poulan/Poulan Pro group. @166 can post a pic of the Jonsred booth at GIE/EXPO. I haven't yet seen what model saws will be sold through that distribution channel. I suspect it will be all homeowner stuff, but when we see the program I'll list them here.

So, it's mass confusion for now. The brand is going away, it's changing to Red Max, but it's not really going away, It's gonna be in this store but not that store, and you can't get that saw with this decal. Yeah, I really want to explain all that 600 times to my customers. 5 more saws and I'm all orange.

How about this from the RM new program: Saws can no longer be ordered PHO. They must be ordered with a bar and chain combo. 2188 has just 2 choices. You can't get it with a 20" or 24"; only comes with 18" and 28". Yup. And remember, someone got PAID to write that program.

The G9000 bars options were the 1st thing I noticed. As long as they come with Scabbards that's all that matters.[emoji6]

AA mention Utica? Haven't seen Queen in a while.

Who ever dreamed up this whole plan is a special kind of stupid! The whole name changing thing is beyond retarded then not to offer a pro grade 50 & 60 cc saw..... what the hell! It's like they're trying set themselves up to fail even worse than what most of us already think is going to happen with this whole deal!

So...what Jonsered Models will actually carry over to Redmax? And are all the dealers carrying Jonsered going to change their signs to "Redmax"? Guess that means the Jonsered rep's now will be trying to open Redmax dealers? Any Autotunes in the mix? Will those dealers get access to the Husqvarna "Mothership" for CST with those Husqvarna based products that use CST?

I believe we covered this on Sunday, WA. And WA is not an abbreviation for Walt either.

Actually, I listed the more interesting Red max models earlier. Problem is more the models that were missing IMO. No 2258 or 2260? Big mistake for a "pro" lineup. What Jonsered models that will be retained on the Poulan program will probably be a mystery until the program is released.

I remember the real redmax zenoah saws. EHP ported 5000 small tiny carb and all that would out cut alot of those NE 346

The way things are going with these OPE companies, one never really knows or better yet understands the " Chess Moves " being made, good, bad or otherwise for the end user.
