I'm not sure exactly what the question is Bob, but the number of subs does not necessarily indicate income level. monthly ad revenue is generated by clicks on ads, not on vids (as far as I know). BUT, the more subs you have, the more folks of a "focused" following you have an the more likely someone is to see a particular ad when you post of a vid. Its truly brilliant concept because theoretically all the subs are folks that like what the youtuber likes. Its all just much more focused marketing. television is much more like using a shotgun blast, youtube is more like a scalpel. and yes, subs from one channel may like a similar one. The beauty is, none are identical. I don't see the harm in gently reminding people to subscribe, but after a while it gets tiresome. I just keep trying to be super boring and be myself. Keeps me plenty busy. Walt too I'm sure. I'm running around like mad these days trying to keep up with my measely 7.7k subs. i can't image 70k, or 700k subs. I'd have to stop doing dentistry.
with regards to sending a saw to BBR,
i'd say that the goal of that idea needs to be well defined. if the goal is to generate good will towards bbr from forum guys .. it may or may not meet that goal
if the goal is for forum guys to stand behind their leader, then that is important. so overall I think its important to stand up for whats right, and it seems to be like MM is in the right here. if there is an opportunity to pitch in support then thats important to do. I'll put my money where my mouth is, so I'm in if thats the direction this goes.
But truthfully, if BBR was really curious, I don't think it'd be a stretch for him to buy a MM saw himself. Which, if you think about it, its kinda his responsibility. He's been giving IH the pump, so now that IH has been called out, its time for him to truly discover if he's backed the right guy or not. The only way to do that, its to get a properly done saw,
of his own volition and curiosity.
But thats unlikely
