Did they make another model to replace the 543. See them here for 620 delivered from Gernany. I suppose parts might not be easy to get now either, they use a smaller than normal oil cap.I like them and have been working on getting a few, as they are now discontinued.
Not really. It was never a big seller for Husky. Didn't meet the expectations for people hoping for a 242xp replacement. But they are solid saws once broken in and tuned right. Many also felt the price-point was too high. Others didn't like the plastic clutch cover (which i mostly feel the same way.)Did they make another model to replace the 543. The 540 is autotune, not for me, and at 867.00 it is 247.00 more than the already expensive 543, I would rather have the Echo CS-4310 at 100.00 euro less than the 540 and no autotune to deal with, which means I can work on the carb and tune it myself. Not really. The 545 still lives, and they just released a rear-handle version of the new 540mk3. So there's basically no "need" for them to keep it around.
I had close to a thousand hours on mine before needing new rings and some attention. Haven't had time to get her back up to good order.
I'm wanting to have one lightly ported and opened up.
I can imagine a ported one would make me smile.Love mine. Little ripper with some porting.
I feel ya. There are some downsides to the AT/MT, such as making it harder to discern an active air leak early on because the AT can compensate for a while. The 540 is autotune, not for me, and at 867.00 it is 247.00 more than the already expensive 543, I would rather have the Echo CS-4310 at 100.00 euro less than the 540 and no autotune to deal with, which means I can work on the carb and tune it myself.
Agree, just goes to show they don't actually need At or MT when they can make the 585, and a lot of their lower powered saws and equipment are still straight carb too, probably prohibitively expensive to add At or MT to the smaller equipment.I feel ya. But Husqy and Stihl are largely going in that direction. I was surprised with the release of the 585, being a manual carb.
Thanks, I gathered that from Oregons site, when I found the right department.K095 as far as I can recall
Ported 241 at that. And not a slouch. I was pleasantly surprisedIt beat out a Stihl 241 at a gtg in a couple of different timed tests.
I’ve never run one stock, but I really like my ported 543. It’s stolen some run time from my 50cc saws. As a climber in most cases it has the sack to be the only saw I need to use aloft after I send down my top handle saw. It beat out a Stihl 241 at a gtg in a couple of different timed tests.
I'm still trying to make it happen. I may throw that 572 your way, too. Too many irons in the fire at the moment.Ported 241 at that. And not a slouch. I was pleasantly surprised
