If your pulling the jug back off, I'd be checking it for out of round or taper as well. Can probably use the ring at various points down the bore to get a rough measurement.

They can warp fer sure.

Oil. Then once you get it going, run the pizz out of it to try and get the rings to set in a little bit.

Like Steve said. I think that my issue has been not running new rings hard after putting crosshatching in the cylinder with a dingle ball hone. If you just idle it, the rings will wear abnormally.

Well, I pulled that jug off. The ring gap does look a LITTLE large but I'm going to try it with the jug Steve sent me. Gotta get another gasket. You had alot of fuel in the cylinder, and the fuel line is new. I changed out an 87 for a 120 that I just rebuilt. I'll pressure test that carb. I'm going to get that fukker running, the only question is when. I still think it is the cylinder for some reason...might be the ring gap. I can always throw another ring on it...

The problem is getting it running, and it wasn't flooded, just gas from trying to get it started. I'll try the oil method and hopefully get it started to where I can continually run it. Didn't know cylinders could warp but they are metal...

Heck, even carburetors can warp after a time.

Check that you didn’t shear the flywheel key. Quite easy on the model. When mine sheared, I had a saw that was doing all sorts of strange stuff.

Read the first post...jeesh. The flywheel key is intact. I'll be putting on the cylinder I got from Steve. Something is wrong with the setup..

Well you have quite the murder mystery here. I go back to something randy said. Any chance there's any blockage/leak to the impulse. Badly cut gasket or damaged gasket? Tried removing the wire for the kill switch from the coil?

The kill switch is working. Passes a p&v test. I think it has to do with the compression/cylinder. I'll find out once I put on Steve's cylinder.

It'd be interesting to know how far off from Oem port locations are on the AM cylinder.

It's not an AM cylinder, it's a KS. First time I've ever had this problem to this extent. I'm hoping it's the ring or cylinder. The only thing is the gouge above the exhaust port roof. Maybe that's making it so low on compression that it won't fire. I don't subscribe to the theory that 100 psi is enough to fire off a chainsaw. But that's just me
