A source of aftermarket parts for Echos would keep a lot of them out of the dumpster. Many times they're just not worth fixing due to having to buy oem repair parts.
Almost every Echo saw I've had (that wasn't already a runner) I've sold as a parts saw since I couldn't see a way to do a financially feasible repair.
I do a lot of 1127 series Stihls and those would be the same. ie, not worth fixing if the only parts source was Stihl.

I think there should be a clear distinction between using some aftermarket parts to fix something vs having a whole saw of aftermarket parts pretending to be something it's not. The problem being that sometimes that distinction isn't made by the seller, which is fraud in my opinion. I know many on here that are very clear with customers about what they are buying but not everyone everywhere is.
Up close, these "fake" saws are detectable but it's not as easy from pictures. Makes it more challenging to buy stuff long distance.

Funny you bring this up D Dave popped in the echo thread a while back and I relaided this infor to him. I guess another route to get am parts is simply talk to Bruce aka Gentleman and see what he can do. A while back he was asking for 291 &391 heads to send off to get something going.

I would love more aftermarket parts for echo. Seen a fair amount of saws I could have fixed and made some money on if the pistons and cylinders were just cheaper

I want a 70 cc or 72 cc 590 topend with the intake the same size as a 372 for carb choice's that saw screams for it i think it would be succesful.

I would buy a toasted 590 just to build that if they ever made one.
