A source of aftermarket parts for Echos would keep a lot of them out of the dumpster. Many times they're just not worth fixing due to having to buy oem repair parts.
Almost every Echo saw I've had (that wasn't already a runner) I've sold as a parts saw since I couldn't see a way to do a financially feasible repair.
I do a lot of 1127 series Stihls and those would be the same. ie, not worth fixing if the only parts source was Stihl.
I think there should be a clear distinction between using some aftermarket parts to fix something vs having a whole saw of aftermarket parts pretending to be something it's not. The problem being that sometimes that distinction isn't made by the seller, which is fraud in my opinion. I know many on here that are very clear with customers about what they are buying but not everyone everywhere is.
Up close, these "fake" saws are detectable but it's not as easy from pictures. Makes it more challenging to buy stuff long distance.
