I've been running a a 580BTS all year long and the side mounted grip felt unnatural to me. I tried it in various configurations and found that I prefer the tube not to rotate while in use. I just used some duct tape at the joint to keep it from rotating. It doesn't look the best but it is effective. With the side mounted grip, it wanted to "roll over" and I had to constantly turn it to where the grip was straight out to the side. I also like the grip to be pointed forward and in this position it feels natural to me. Here is what I'm talking about.

Try it you may like it. Hope this helps.

I don't understand WHY husqvarna put the handle on the side to begin with.

Husqvarna says and I quote: "To minimize strain on the user, the throttle handle on Husqvarna blowers is positioned to neutralize the lateral forces generated by the air stream and the engine."

They should have placed it on the top like all the other manufactures.

My BT150 works fine IMO as delivered. Handle a bit forward, tube free to rotate, so that optional flattened discharge can be used to best advantage for directional control, to left or right. One sweet engine- runs like new in its fifth year, clearing leaves from a swath of the neighborhood.
Did I mention: $225 delivered from VMInnovations? Just makes it that much sweeter.

I have a 580BTS also. I have used Stihl's but bought the Husky due to the specs. I love the blower but do think my arm feels more strained with this blower than any others I have used. Maybe it is due to the side mount handle...

I've had a 350BT for a couple of years now. Always starts and runs well. Not the most powerful blower out there, but enough for a hack like me. I've never even thought about the position of the handle, so I guess it doesn't bother me. Lol

PissRev I recently picked up a 580bts and was baffled by how they went with that design for where to put the handle. I was always used to how the handle was on top of the tube from using a 150bts previously. I also felt that I eliminated about 3-4 inches of bulk by putting it on the top and crushing my hand when scoring leaves into between houses and tight spots. I didn't like the angle initially of how my wrist was bent when I had it in the recommended position, I run a blower for about 3-4 hours per house this season so comfort is the main concern. I have a big cleanup to do today and I'll give that handle configuration a try. Thanks.

Anyone compare the Jonsered blowers? I have a BB 2250 and like it. I have nothing to compare it with but find the controls comfortable. I ran it 3-4 hours this last weekend.

Looks close in specs to the Husky 150BT.

I tried it in that configuration and I prefer it the way I had it. I guess because it's what I'm used to.
