I have an old husky 61 white top and i recently did the 272xp conversion but am having problems with the idle.

I swapped cylinder, piston, decompression, caburator, air filter, and muffler to 272xp. It starts and idles, the low is dialed in, but when i hit the throttle to cut it dies out. I can't tell if it is bogging or starving for fuel, if I hit throttle a few times RPMs drop and then will come back up or die.

Any idea what the problem is? Thanks!

When it dies, do you have to choke it to get it started again? If so, it's a lean bog, and your L or H screw need to be turned out.
If it smokes when it stalls, your H screw needs turned in or the inlet needle lever is set too high.

Or maybe the carb needs rebuilt, or a new spark plug. Take some pics or a video and post it up. We'll help if we can

@Mastermind, could you move this to the chainsaw section to get the OP some more help?

The importance of the correct intake block is a good point.
You also need to trust the kit in the carb is fresh when rebuilding anything.
