Husqvarna 572XP?

Truth is that it's usually not a semi pro customer that buys them in my store. I sell a fair amount of 365's and 2166's to loggers, tree guys, and firewood sellers. Their view is that they are practically the same as the 72's, and they don't feel that much difference between them, so why not save $100 and get the junior model.

Thanks for the market insight Bob. Makes sense, productivity and low overhead keeps the lights on. I admire the "land owner" grade saws as much as any XP, 353, 359, 365, 555 etc.

The specs posted in this thread show it's displacement at 73cc. Which predecessor are you referring too? 576?

Disregard...just looked at the specs again, 70.6cc.

Moving the weight around to put more strength into the components like crank and bearings is joined up logic plus the hollow crank pin for cooling and lube.
What is smaller or lighter i wonder?

An observation -

This now lines up the Husky mid-range lineup: 545 / 555 / 565

The pro lineup will be 550 / 562 / 572

What if Husky re-named the 550 when updating it, to call it a 552 XP? That would make my inner engineer nerd happy...

The pro lineup will be 550 / 562 / 572

What if Husky re-named the 550 when updating it, to call it a 552 XP? That would make my inner engineer nerd happy...

This dont sound right, remember, in Europe we have the 560xp, basically a low top 562 with small mount. And there's already a 570...

Yeah, I'm using US-centered thinking on this one. We didn't get the 560, and the 570 isn't an XP - it was the little brother of the 575XP experiment.

I have a couple 570's that I received in non-running condition. What a pig for a 70cc saw. They don't even have mufflers, top covers, recoils, or clutch covers, and even like that, they weigh a lot for a 70cc powerhead...

No, I was just thinking for down the road.......when I'm pulling these saws from junk piles. And can't get bearings or seals anymore from the dealer.

I'd rather not see a bunch of new model numbers. Or stuff like "555 II". "NE" new edition is the least confusing change if there has to be one.

when those bearings are NLA Brian, most of those other parts has been NLA for awhile.

well, special bearing has always been pricey, so here is the thing, what do we prefer?
A fatty bottom part because it has cheap industrial standard bearing and seal solution, or an slim bottom part but it could only be made slim because of them proprietary bearings?
If you ask me I take the slim saw anytime...

Can't wait to see a 572xp perform in real wood against the 372, 576, and the 461/462 from Stihl. It's one thing to watch it cut trees down with no competition nearby. It's quite another running in cants.
