Conversion for price to US Dollar... $1545.76

You could buy a 395XP for that much, but this kind of saw might out cut a stock one.

No doubt the old legendary 372 has finally met its match. It will be replaced by what will be the best 70cc class saw. Full circle crank, some port work, and a muffler mod, these things will scream...

A 1500 dollar 70cc saw is...ridiculous. That's a wild price

Won't argue with you there. Give it a few years. If we're lucky, price will drop slightly once they realize they can't ask that much for a 70cc saw.

Someone I knew (before he passed away) bought a brand new Stihl 441... paid 1200 bucks for it. That's a bit much, IMO. I ran that saw, and while it was strong, it was heavy. 460 was lighter and about 200 cheaper... 372 is a little lighter and about 300 cheaper.

but he said he wanted something that would survive felling dead ash trees, and I can see a 441 being built heavy enough to take some serious abuse like dead branches falling from above, where the cutter bails out and leaves the saw behind so they don't get cracked over the head. Air filter cover has a crack in it, so something whacked it pretty good. Stihl plastic isn't too easy to crack, from what I hear.

In any case... you get what you pay for. You're paying for top notch computer tech in the ECM, and ignition module, as well as heavy duty bearings and a full circle crank. The crank is probably one of the most expensive parts on that saw. I wouldn't be surprised if the ignition module and ECM are expensive stuff too. Not to mention the millions spent in research and development before they even had a test fleet out.

Sounds like it's spinning pretty quick, can't imagine what it will sound like after it gets some bananas in it.

Don't pay any attention to those prices guys. Those numbers are nuts and US prices won't be anywhere near that much.

Remember that different markets have prices that are all over the map and make no sense at all. Just look at the difference between the US and Canada as an example.

My guess is somewhere between 576 and 390 numbers.

Wonder which clutch cover will be on the production version? I'm hoping for the captive nut version on the first picture. Also noticed there is no AV limiter in the top picture. Lots of subtle changes between the two pics aside from the obvious high top vs low top.

I've found with Stihl that for the first 6 months or so the initial price is very close if not the same to the replacement saw, then they continue to rise. This is why getting in early often is a good idea. They almost always cost more within 12 months and with this release close to Jan.1 my guess is that they will go up first of the year. I'm in.

The top picture is a picture, the bottom one is "artwork" from the image bank. The side cover on the bottom saw looks like it's from a 372 to me. The top cover in the upper pic lacks the vent holes; may be an early pic..

It's only the first day, and we have limited info so far. Gotta let the dust settle before drawing too many conclusions.

What's the actual displacement Bob? Sorry if I missed that info I'm catching up at a fever pace right now.

70-72; not exactly sure myself. No specs arrived with the prototypes, just a lot of stuff about keeping our mouths shut. LOL
Ha ha! Job well done for all of you that were in the know. Looking forward to seeing specs on it.

This is my first look at the X cut 85 chain.
Cutter bit is moved back almost inline ahead of the rear rivet just as a normal chain would be when filed about half ways back. This allows a much larger gullet then a normal new out of the box chain.
Rivets are flattened allowing for the narrower kerf.
Depth gauge still retains ramp front, back thinned out in gullet for extra chip clearance and less side friction.
Like the Stihl Oil O Matic drive link design haha .Always was a better design then the Oregon LubriLink.
I also notice the Vibe-Ban configuration was retained, they even still have a half barb trademark arrow on the sidelinks. Probably no longer a trademark, just a direction arrow to install the links in the forward direction.
Fast efficient looking chain with the cut speed of a half filed back chain new right out of the box.;)

I noticed the serial # of the introduction 572 is the #6 unit built in the 22week of 2017.
Interesting direction Husqvarna chose, now I see where the extra weight came from in the bottom end. Will definitely have durability for a 70cc saw.
The saw already has the platform to add more cc displacement. Kinda like the ways of Dolmar, Poulan....
I'm thinking max bar length recommendations would be in the 32"range. Not bad for a 70cc seeing even the 562 is rated for 28".

572 would be a good fit for steep terrain PNW 2nd growth timber falling.
