I've noticed this tooPersonally I always thought an open port saw had more mid range and lugged better than a closed port for a firewood saw anyways.

I was shocked to see that the OEM cylinder kit was nearly $25 cheaper than Meteor
YepLook up a 346XP kit, cheaper than Meteor, Hyway, or Tecomec last I looked. OEM is $101.86
Got a customers 55 on the bench.
He decided he'd try to do the repair himself and got in the middle and realized it was way over his head, so I end up with a box of parts and a grocery bag of screws to re-assemble.
I agree with ya 110% buddySounds like you should charge a premium for frustration...say 20% or so.
As far as the missing screws, they probably rattled out before he even took it apart. It is a Husky...
Sorry my post added no value. I hope someone at least chuckled.

Husqvarna 55's had two different air filters one with a screw retainer and one that simply snaps on. I do not have any pictures to show but can try to answer any questions. The 55 is not a complicated saw by any means and should be relatively easy considering your situation. This manual may help you also. Best of luck.
