Looking for a tillotson throttle shaft for a 385, 390 or 395. Will take a whole carburetor for the right price. Trying to find a throttle to put in a carburetor for my 9000 hybrid project. I believe tillotson numbers are hs296, hs298 and maybe hs300?

Maybe it would make more sense to just try a 395 carb again and rule out if I just had a junky aftermarket 1 the first couple tries

Are you looking to fit a bigger carb in the Dolmar 9000? Because those intake boots are pretty restrictive.

I am currently running a hs203 modified to fit but seems to lack power but trying to rule out if it's a carb issue or porting issue or it's just a junker setup. Just would like to start with a carb that should work. The 395 carb I first tried ran crappy didn't want to even rev up right. So I tried a regular 372 carb piss reved fine with that so I made the 203 and it runs ok just not as strong as I think it should so want to try a 9000 carb or try a different 203 but have an actual throttle shaft for it so the cable doesn't stick

If you're feeding an 084 cylinder, I don't know that a small HS carb is going to move that much fuel and air.

You could try adding a reed valve of some kind - that's how they made a smaller carb work on the Mac 125s.

It probably won't ever work I am just confused at this point why it runs better with a 372 oe carb than a 395 carb

The 395 carb may have an internal circuit issue or a bad nozzle. I've got a box of old HS carbs that I can dig through for worthwhile candidates after the new year. An RWJ-4 carb might work better there too.

I thought about a rwj4 the only reason I was thinking the tillotson was because I have a bunch of good 203s on 133/143 and all I would have to do is change the throttle shaft and top cover and good to go. The 395 carb was aftermarket and I didn't like how it ran on the 395 either that's why I took it off the 395 so I don't think it was a fair comparison that's why I was thinking a good 395 carb might be worth a shot. Should have tried the good carb I had before I sold the 395🤦
