Thanks for sharing Jim,
The 357xp ported seemed faster than the hybrid in the videos.
However that may be due to 2 different woods.
Hope you can get it up and running soon.

I'm gathering parts now,
So I can do 2 builds using a 2156 & 2159 as a base platform.
Looking to see the difference in performance with the different

The first hybrid video is before I put the ports in the right location. I wanted to see how it ran that way. And after watching it again and comparing it to my 357 videos I'll say it still looked quite a bit stronger that way. That particular 357 only has a mild port job, so there's many others out there that will stomp it.

Do you mean that there are other 357's,
that will stomp the Hybrid?

Thanks Jim for your time.

Your build has inspired me to start 2 Builds.

That comment wasn't about the hybrid. The 357 I ported isn't anything more than lower transfers matched to the case, thinner base gasket, and a muffler mod.
There are a couple 357 race builds out there that would probably whoop the hybrid. Those saws really run good.

Raise transfers and exhaust? Or just more area? What you have going with porting carb and case seems to work very well. Just as you are im very concerned about that little crank holding up to high rpm use long term with all that extra power and a heavier piston. If it breaks id love to hear about it. Thank you for doing these kind of builds. Do you have a list of what your final parts used were?

Ms361 muffler,
272xp cylinder,
Ms460 piston,
RWJ-4 carb,
372 oe intake boot.
The 361 muffler may not be the best option, but it's what I had on hand. I do regret not buying a cheap Chinese one to use instead.
