Just started a new project. Husqvarna 288xp, when I received the saw I was told that there is believed to be top end issues. I found out there is indeed topend issues the threads for the spark plug are no longer existing. Hard to tell by the picture but the spark plug just pulls right out. Gonna do a complete overhaul on the saw. Ended up getting a cylinder from my buddy Bob @Spike60 Will update as I go along. she still needs some elbow grease cleaning before I start actually working on it.

Beware the inserts that crimp or punch in, not enough thread engagement. I had success using and insert that is 3/4” fine thread on the OD and securing it with hi strength Hi Temp loctite…the best would be to have it welded and machined.

Originally was gonna do a gasket delete. Decided against it and went with a dukes performance gasket .006 thick. Hopefully tomorrow night I’ll get the rest of it back together.

finally got the time to work on the 288. Just need to finish up the exhaust and put the throttle interlock palm trigger thing on. Still waiting for it to get here. Got a bar on my 670 too. Was thinking about getting the half black oregon versa cut. Then I came across this NOS Oregon bar. It Looks good on there.

I like the VersaCut bars. I wish they made a 28" version, but I dunno if the aluminum sandwich construction would make it too floppy. I guess I'll just have to settle for the Husky-branded SugiHaras. Oh darn.
