De-bur the cylinder, new piston and she'll go again. After you find out what killed it in the first place that is.

What you did there, I see that.
Her uncle welded the bracket on the saw.
I can only assume that what I'm seeing is small pieces of welding spatter.

One stuck on the piston and another in the squish band as seen in the photos.
Both are nearly perfectly round and of similar size.

I wonder where he had the ground hooked? He may have been using the bearings and an electrode path. It will fit in the box better when you ship it to me all tore down.:D

For what the cost of a new piston will be it might be time to get one of those new low priced OEM cylinder kits from Spike or Tea Kay. I've never run the open port 268 but I bet you would like it as a closed port, they run more like a Stihl in the torque department. And if this was AS, I would add they are also kind heavy and akwaard so if you close your eyes you would never know the difference. Good thing this isn't AS :angel2::D

That is the perfect example of the lottery, that little bit of metal had the opportunity to fall out the exhaust hole on the first down stroke. Instead, it spent 2,000,000 revolutions in the chamber raising hell.

You should be able to get a Meteor slug from Definitive Dave cheap enough, but if a power upgrade is in order an OEM 272 XP top end is ~$120.00 now. True 268XP top ends have been NLA for a while, automatically subs out to a 272.
