I would be interested in buying this saw off you if you still have it and will ship.
I have a 254 that is missing the ID tag and I want to convert it over to a 254G.
Please let me know something. I know this thread is old but worth a shot!

There's not much left of the "G" system to do a conversion from the looks of it, you would be left having to find the majority of the parts that are NLA. Best to find a whole saw. Sorry for being such a downer.

All I need is the generator, which I found online new but they want like 86 dollars for. I found the switch on eBay for around 15. But the heated handle and the element that goes in the rear handle I can not find. I would also like to find an ID tag but I know you can’t buy one of the unless I buy a case. So just in those three parts I was looking around 175. Not worth it! Just thought that one would have most of the parts I need.
I pick up this saw for 50. It runs great and has great compression. Just thought it would be nice to make it into a G saw, if I could find the parts.
I have never had a saw with heated handles or even ran one. I like fixing the saws up and I love the 200 series.
If I can’t find it for this saw I will try for a 61 or 272 or if all else fail I guess the 372. I know I could find the parts for heated handles for the 372, but I like the little 254 better.
