Weighs in at 2 pounds for the clutch side half alone. Would have weighed my mag sided case but mines already assembled. Anyone have a bare mag side they can weigh?

It seems like your mag case is thicker than mine in some areas too. Mine thins out near the bottom side of the data plate location

An illusion...no worn off paint toward the front.

Both have the same pt#, however
501 56 93 V2. The clocks are different, however.

No aux oiler port but can be drilled as the flip side has the correct channel.

Passed the fizz test, the flywheel side fizzes with vinegar while the clutch side does not

Excuse my ignorance, but what are they normally made from?

EDIT I didn’t realize I wasn’t on the last page. Was the 2100 produced over the time that mag/aluminum alloys started to be used, or has magnesium been used in crankcases for most of chainsaw history?
