Weighs in at 2 pounds for the clutch side half alone. Would have weighed my mag sided case but mines already assembled. Anyone have a bare mag side they can weigh?

It seems like your mag case is thicker than mine in some areas too. Mine thins out near the bottom side of the data plate location

Both have the same pt#, however
501 56 93 V2. The clocks are different, however.

Both the aluminum and my 2101 with the mag have the same half number as well. Tho the box numbers for crankcase sets have different part numbers

Here’s a rare one, 2100 crankcase set with aluminum clutch side case.
Excuse my ignorance, but what are they normally made from?

EDIT I didn’t realize I wasn’t on the last page. Was the 2100 produced over the time that mag/aluminum alloys started to be used, or has magnesium been used in crankcases for most of chainsaw history?
