I found out there was no gasket on it.
The gasket has raised ridges on one side, do they go in toward the engine or out to the muffler or does it matter?
I put the raised ridges toward the muffler.
I see no recessed slots on the muffler for it to sit flat there so it isn't going to face that direction. I guess you better hope the raised ridges line up outside the exhaust flange or it's back to searching for a gasket.

I didn't see any recessed slots on the cylinder either so, maybe I should get some more pics of these actual surfaces.
Gasket is OEM
Now I'm thinking more along the lines of an aftermarket Muffler and Gasket.
Anyone have first-hand knowledge of the Husqvarna 61 practica 1984?
I have a whole pile of all those models and I've never seen a gasket like that. It's the new version which must also fit with a shield. The old gaskets are coated metal and flat.
You should be able to find one on eBay. 266's use the same gasket.
