A guy I work with has a Husqvarna 55 that isn't oiling worth a crap. I am certain I can fix it if I had the IPL and/or Service manual if they are available. It leaks oil out sitting and it seems to be slinging it inside the clutch cover, but isn't making it to the bar. The oil hole in the bar is clear and the bar is in decent shape. Can anyone help me out on how the oiler works on these saws. He is also missing some screws in the recoil cover.....imagine that on a Husky!!!!

Mine gummed up on me. I ran a tank of straight diesel fuel in the bar oil area. I also took the cap off the oil tank and gave it a little shot of compressed air back through. Mine works now. The bar oil leak I can’t help much on. If it’s already broken I can’t see what trying what I mentioned could hurt. I was also guilty of running all sorts of crap for bar oil

Common issue on older 55's. The rubber pick up and the rubber piece towards the bar pad go bad. You can get new ones pretty cheap, and add a little motoseal, etc between the halves. Also make sure the bar plate is in good shape. When oiling properly a 20" is no issue.

This is what I found when I took it apart. The bar tensioner hole is located over the oiler outlet. Does the clamping force of the bar pad, bar, and clutch cover seal this off? Or is it missing something? It is a Oregon K095 68 DL bar. Oregon 180SLNK095 is on the bar.

Here's what's under the cover. (Just happen to have a couple funky pumps handy.) Of note is that the pump shaft can be turned and essentially pump oil everywhere else besides through the hole in the rubber fitting that goes up against the bar plate. The notch on the back of the pump shaft aligns with a stub on the case when installed correctly. As you can see by the two pumps together, the pump shaft rotates and also can move in and out from its correct position. And a K095 is the correct mount, btw.
