This may be child's play for a lot of you. I work with the h 50/51/55 often because there are so many around here well known Achilles heel is the plastic intake bulk head. I think the worst part is the carb is held on by screws that secure in plastics.

Here are some pics of what I do. And a couple 1 minute vids. Hope someone find this useful.

Below first pic is the stuff I use

Second pic you can see the threads are starting to pull out

I usually install a 5mm helicoil and then use 5mm x either 55 or 60mm allen head screws. It works for me
Thanks guys, I like this type of repair I am sure you all have them for various models. Hope it helps someone.

Yep thats what I use. M5, I thought they were 45mm but I will check the length for reference when I get home. I bought them at Fastenal because they were super cheap.

I need to get another pack of Heli coils.

If you do the repair Randy talked about put a dab of loctite on the nuts I had a buddy crunch a new meteor piston when the nut went down the intake.

@Mastermind

Randy when do you want stuff in the technical area and when in the chainsaw area?

You guys use your own judgement on that David.

I'm just a member here too my friend. Think of me as traffic cop/peacekeeper.

I'll have to look in my stash but, I picked up a package of machine thread inserts intended for soft material (plastic or wood) at a machine design show.
