Mine throws large chips also, I'm running a ko95 16" on a 346, I'm running a std rim 8 pin 3/8 , it looks like i should have got an 18" bar and cut the tail down, looking a min ago it looks like the chain is riding way high on the bar.
Can you show us a picture of this ?

Filing? Square? I want mine ground to start, Thank You. Converted several used chains to square. Takes too *f-wording long!
Converting a new chain to square just seems to be easy and fast imo. Considering chopping off the tail off the cutter and converting one to race. A four inch right angle grinder should make quick work of it.

Should I file a 3/8 or 3/8lp?

Do any of you guys or gals use a triangle file to adjust the corner? I do that and sometimes a regular rectangle file. Seems to be working out.
Still using the two in one for work chains. I run both square and round now.

I am only a rookie, but I think 3/8 would be easier than the 3/8 LP.

I have question for the experienced felows on here regarging bar oiler holes, when in l run squre chisel seems like i get about i0 cuts and the bar oil hole plugs with fine dust and wil quit oiling, have a i6" oregon power match bar that actually shoved the fines all the way into the oil tube, also have a raisman bar that did the same thing, but i took a small cut of wheel and angled the oil slot towads the tip of the bar seems to have that fixed, it doesn't do that with round fille chains, any thoughts.
Have you filed the gullet/shelf back?
