How tight do you keep your chain?

In the spirit of pointless threads I thought it be good to ask how tight is your chain on your blade?

I try to keep my blade with just right amount of tenshun.

When the chain touches the bar....and probably a 1/2 turn from there...Never really paid attention. I just pull chain up on the top center of the bar...and if it pops back into place easily...I know it's fine...same with the bottom. Stihl actually does recommend that after using the saw you should loosen the bar nuts and relieve tension on the chain to help keep it from stretching. Never have done it myself.

Till its tight enough to create smoke signals. Who really needs an Arctic model, plenty of other genius ways to warm the saw components up.

Honestly, I actually had a tendency to run it a bit looser than I do now. I've taken to giving it that little extra 1/4 turn after the chain slaps the bottom rail.

I have 3 346 and they all have to be around 1/8 of an inch from the bar before the nuts are turned or they are to tight.

Just tight enough it doesn't fall off.

I tighten up till you can pull a 1/4" space between bottom of cutter and top of rail, then I give the tensioner a quarter turn.
