Just curious about pawn shop saws...how much do you offer compared to listed price?
I know my 036 pro that got stolen...then found it at the pawn shop 6 months later only paid $40 bucks for it...lol
Just curious. Found a 372xpw in decent shape I may attempt to offer on.

$450 isn't a bad price on a decent one. Is it the older style with the 75cc jug or the newer xtorq?

Honestly just saw it was a xpw...not sure if it is the old, or new. Did these haze xtorque on the starter cover. If so, this one did not.

Don't listen to Mike, he's RICH....
For me to Pay $400 it better have the original sticker on the belly or maybe one on top from a mad monkey or a "hacked up " one...
75cc ? Ho hum....id rather me a 7900 and Mike will agree too.

Before I left Kentucky I was friendly with the owners/managers of at least a half pawn shops. I was a good customer of all who bought often and paid cash. In many cases when I asked for a price they gave me a number lower than I would have offered. A couple of examples were an 044 for $100 and a 1 year old 261 for $150.

I had good luck pointing out issues with saws and getting significant discounts, especially if they were safety related.

I scratch my name in any saw that travels with me. Pawn shops have to give it back or they are selling stolen goods. My uncle used to work in DC and went to the corner pawn shop often to reclaim his tools. :)

I didn't have the serial number written down, but I did have several photos of it. Luckily the police officer, and the owner both saw that it was my saw.

I've never seen any saws at the Pawn Shops around here that were worth buying, or listed for realistic pricing.
As far as making an offer on used saws, I believe you fellas know how I roll.....IMG_20141007_102536_185.jpg

The shops around here get some pretty decent saws in. Last year, with the dry summer..woods were shut down for quite a while. A few loggers pawned their saws...372/390/461 etc... and had them decently priced. Made me wish I had the extra cash at the time!!

Not here. $550 for a MS361, $350 for a 359, etc. Heck, I've seen MS180's listed for $200.

Ouch!! That is pricey!! If I had the proper coin at the time...I could have had a near minty 372 and a nice 461 for $900...but all I could afford to do...look and drool. Lol.

Those are the kind of list prices I see here too, but there is always lots of room to haggle and bargain. Talk to them, most times they want to sell that stuff and make room. All the pawn shops here are overflowing, they are turning people away wanting to pawn certain items because they already have so much inventory.
