I have a small ATV trailer that has seen a lot of winter use and had to replace the 2x2 steel below tailgate, factory trailer. its a 1998 it was used commercially b4 I bought it 10 years ago.
My factory 18ft flatdeck has a bit of surface rust, it rarly sees winter travel. Its a 2004, I did drill drain holes in one tube for the tail light as water was collecting in there.
I bet it will last a long time its a 2004. It was used as and equipment trailer commercially b4 I got it 7 years ago, from repo depot.
You dont see any rusted out trailers here.
We shy from stuff from back east due to the rust, especially cars/trucks.
Am in the interior BC,, we get a bit more rust than the west coast.

I have a Hudson 16' equipment trailer I bought new in 1988, had to replace the deck boards in 2008. Always stays outside, other than a new plug and spring hanger I have only replaced tires.

Very well made trailers.

I have a few, ones a 1998 cam superline and the other is a 2014 PJ tilt trailer.
The superline has held up well for its age. Only surface rest, but it could use a new floor. The PJ isn't old enough to tell.

In a none salt environment, trailers last almost indefinitely. With the salt rust factor, it varies.
I have a pick up box trailer made from a 1978 F150 long box. The truck got parted because the cab rusted out. I'm originally from MI so know all about salt. Living in Georgia now is so different in that regard. None of my current vehicles have any rust holes in them. (I have 8 trailers not counting equipment on wheels)
