Today is just a day of 'weirdness' .... so who am I to mess with a trend?

I've read on the interwebs lately that SOME folks out there prefer to kill a running saw by choking it. The claim is that it 'primes' the machine for restart.

What do the members here have to say about it?

Go.

I disagree with that philosophy as when I have "had" to shut down by choking it. I've had difficulty restarting . I guess if you were very specific about plug readings then maybe chocking it off might be of value. But if ya got a working kill switch I say use it.

Interested in some others viewpoints .

Same experience here, it doesn’t prime it, it floods it.

Good thread...

Real answer: I use the kill switch. Every runner of mine so far has an operable kill switch. Restarting is easy on most of them. Also, before shutdown, I let it idle a few seconds.

Funny answer: I plug the muffler with my full turtled dick. Have to pull out as soon as saw shuts off or it gets stuck in there.
