How do you set the exciter ignition gap on a Shindaiwa 488 ?

Question really is how do you get the exciter coil module to set the gap if its totally blocked by the flywheel . If you remove the flywheel to access
the setting, then you can't set the gap ...see the pics

On the 3-pc coils for these saws…you need to make yourself a narrow spacer. I use a piece of .020 plastic cut to about 5/16” to slide in under the fan blades.

10-4 I might’ve used a brass shim when I replaced mine. It’s been probably ten years…
