I have some NOS Oregon 3 blade heads that should be compatible with my Ryan 264 weed whacker. I’m having trouble getting the rest of the old string head off tho. What’s on in the pic is what I don’t know how to get off. Does anyone know how to do this conversion?

Watch this and see if yours is the same setup. The video shows a straight shaft, not the curved one.

Some have a pin hole just above the trimmer head that you you put a pin or small screwdriver in. Turn the head until the screwdriver falls in the slot inside, then you can spin the head off.

First, take the retaining ring off so you can slide the upper part of the head off the shaft. Then see if you can remove the stub shaft, but I'm afraid that is part of the lower bearing.
