Approximately a year and a half ago, my Gx200 (clone engine) rototiller was experiencing issues with smoking and oil consumption. After some consultation, I replaced the piston rings, which appeared to solve the problem. However, it started smoking again and I have now decided to replace the entire piston and rings assembly as the original piston had poor wall clearances.
Upon receiving the new piston, I discovered that new piston has pretty much same sloppiness as the old one with dimensions measuring :
67.60mm at the crown;
67.75mm bellow the oil ring;
67.985mm at the bottom.
resulting clearances being :
0.4mm at the crown; - 0.0157"
0.25mm bellow the oil ring; - 0.0098"
0.015mm at the bottom of the piston. -0.0006"
which way exceeds the recommended specifications.
Could someone please verify that my understanding is correct, so that I may request a replacement or refund as necessary? Thank you.
