Homelite xl12 i.d.

It has the pyramid reed valves like a super, it has a big muffler like a super, but ,it is a manual oiler.
It looks to be a later built saw.
It is clearly marked xl12
I have pics and #'s

Big reed block was odd.
I'm not sure where to look up

XL-12's the oil fill was down by the muffler. Super XL's
were up top in front of the handle.

There doesn't seem to be anything that has surfaced that would identify saw dates by SN prior to the dates in the bulletin.

only thing i know about xl 12 is that the seals work on either side and are readily available through homelite.

The later model xl-12's had the super mufflers and the pyramid reed cage. I think that they did is to standardize parts in the later production.

Said the IPL showed it had a super
Engine. Idk doesn't matter much
But it runs good

I have seen several late model xl-12's that have the larger bore, I think that homelte just started using all the same rear handle, for the pyramid reed cage and super cylimder and piston on the last of the xl-12 production to save money

I've never seen a Super XL-12 . I don't know if the were sold in North America or not. They do show up in Europe.

Apparently they were equipped with an auto oiler as well
